Stackable guide designs
When a stackable system is the right choice and what the stages involve.
A stackable guide is a set of components that seat on a common base: typically a fixation base, then a bone-reduction guide, then the implant guide. Because every stage indexes to the same base, the plan stays registered even after the anatomy changes during surgery.
When to use one
- Full-arch and All-on-X cases.
- Any case involving bone reduction, where a tooth-supported guide stops fitting once you start.
- Cases where you want the prosthetic position carried through every stage.
What we need beyond a standard guide
- A clear plan for the final prosthesis, or a denture scan if one exists.
- Your intended fixation strategy, so pin positions can be planned rather than improvised.
